People have this thing about God’s grace all backwards. Our carnal nature is not under grace; however grace leads us out of our carnality into grace! If the Lord has chosen us He leads us.
Grace does not leave us in our “just as I am” state. It does, however, accept us “just as we are” and then begins to take us into perfection in Christ.
Amazing Grace
If we believe, no matter what we "do" in the carnal; His grace pulls us out of that carnality and into Himself. His grace gives us the desire and ability to make it right with God. Now that is amazing grace! His hand is upon us and we will be made wholly whole in Christ. He knows our heart, and He knows the outcome. Because he has chosen us, he knows that when he delivers us from carnal thinking and doing, we won't go back to it. We lose forever the desire of what “seemeth to be right” in our own eyes. And some things we forget we did because God has so totally forgiven them. Now I see what has happened in me all these years.... His grace has taken it over, and I am being taken out of carnal thinking. This is conversion. This is translation from darkness into His marvelous light. Only grace can do this. Law can never convert or translate! God brings us out of our old man, as we put ourselves into him. He forgets that old man…old things are passed away! Why should we dwell on things we "did" when God doesn't dwell on them. Now, that is grace. Jesus warns us to “judge not lest you be judged.” The carnal is not to be judging others. He said to the religious leaders who brought the woman they “caught” in adultery, “let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” He judged them right there on the spot. There was none righteous among them. Jesus was the only one without sin and the only one who had the "legal" right to cast the first stone at the woman. Yet to her he showed grace, and he judged the self-righteous leaders. He declared that he came to save the world, not condemn it. It was the law that was doing the stoning, grace did not. Grace does not come to carry out the "law”. Grace fulfills it. That is interesting...only grace has the "legal" right to carry out the law, but grace says to the accused, “Who are your accusers?” Grace comes to save, not condemn. We are being taught more about grace than any other generation ever knew. We do not want the praise of men, let alone love the praises of men. Under the law we seek always to please men, for they are executers of the letter of the law. Grace rises above the praises of men and does the will of the father who is gracious (full of grace). We are merging into one spirit in Christ Jesus. We are caught up in to God in Christ by His grace, leaving all carnal behind. Whether persecution, or praise follows what we do, we do it. As one spirit in Jesus we do it. I look at how "ignorant" I was coming in to this. He had a lot of carnal thinking to pull me up out of. Carnal thinking is the "miry clay" that he pulls us up out of. I am reminded of a song by Hillsong music: Jesus, lover of my soul, Jesus, I will never let you go You’ve taken me from the miry clay You've set my feet upon the Rock, and now I know
I love you; I need you, though my world may fall, I’ll never let you go My saviour, my closest friend, I will worship you until the very end.
I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and Set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. Psalm 40:1-2 That is grace “I would not have you to be ignorant,” the apostle Paul said. Carnal thinking is ignorant. Come up into the mind and heart of Christ. We all have the battle about what people might think every time we set out to do what the Father tells us to do. Whatsoever the Father says do usually defies all the knowledge and “common sense” of the carnal mindset. Whether they love me or hate me I must go on in Christ. All that matters is what does God say? We move into His mind His ways and His thoughts. The carnal kingdom is the one that keeps men prisoners to confusion, so come out of her. It keeps us mixing Biblical truth with the muck of this sinful world. Scripture tells us to touch not the unclean thing; the thing that thinks it is right, that it is holy and perfect, but is not. Do not partake in her plagues (the consequences of that thinking.) Come out of her, and come up hither into God. There is not one shred of ignorance found in grace. Grace kicks Satan out of the heavens, and grace defeats him here on earth. I can truly sing Amazing Grace: “ Through many dangers snares and toils I have already come...His grace has brought me safe thus far. And grace shall lead me home”.” Home is God! I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. I can clearly say that under I am different from how I was even a few years ago. Grace opens up understanding! Grace gives peace in turbulent times. Grace heals and converts. Grace is the change agent that affects holiness! In His grace, we travel at the speed of light. So how far has light traveled in these past few years? Just think: light goes around the earth seven times in one second! A friend of mine and I figured out one day how fast it went in 24 hours...so amazing. 186,000-miles per second x 60 x 60 x 24. Folks, that is fast. Just imagine what it was like when God said, “let there be light……………..wow.” Now that’s grace. God's grace is amazing revelation. Man knows nothing apart from God, yet he thinks that he knows it all. He has degrees, and he studies. Ignorance has built some big churches, bible schools and TV stations. Vast denominations have "added to" the pure revelation God gave a visionary and have turned them into huge chaotic organizations, pushing God right out the door. They brag that they know because of their big numbers. And they say, as they seduce sin-filled crowds to join them, “It’s ok! Come just as you are, and continue in sin. You can join our church. And you will get to go to heaven with us. We are under grace.” They holler "under grace under grace" whenever confronted by the truth. They argue, “Besides, if we were false, all those people wouldn't be coming. So we must be right. God is truly blessing us. I have the cars and mansions and resort houses to prove it!” When confronted by the truth, they whisper, "Shhhh, don't judge, don't criticize. Shhhhhhh, you have to show love." And their members continue in sin, completely missing the mark. Jesus said narrow is the path to holiness and broad is the way to destruction. Nothing has changed since that proclamation, except in the minds of God-rejecting men. Years ago, my husband and his brother would look at the huge traffic jams in Houston, TX, as they crept along the freeways and say...”That many people cannot be right.” They spoke truth there. "Right" is not found in numbers "Right” is found in righteousness of God. And Jesus is that righteousness
